140 High Frequency Words

This list of 140 high frequency words has been developed by combining the first 100 words from several popular high frequency lists. They have been arranged here according to levels of spelling development. This list can be used for word recognition purposes or it can be used for recording spelling mastery. Each word is followed by five grid spaces in which to record the date of mastery.
